What the Zinc test measures
Zinc is needed for hair growth, skin repair, taste and the immune system. Low levels are one of the treatable causes of hair shedding and slow wound healing, especially with a restricted diet or a gut condition.
What the result tells you
If it's low
Can contribute to hair loss, brittle nails, poor healing and frequent infections, and usually responds to diet or a short course of supplements.

Too much
Long-term high-dose supplements can raise zinc and lower copper, so supplements are taken on advice.
