What is HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial uses a vortex tip to cleanse and exfoliate, lift out the contents of congested pores, and push hydrating serums into the skin — in a single pass, without the pinching and pressure of manual extractions. There is no recovery time, which is why people book it before an event.
The indication with published clinical evidence behind it is active acne. In a study of a clarifying treatment series, the proportion of patients rated clear or almost clear rose from 20% to 65% on investigator assessment (p=0.0027), and from 5% to 55% by patients' own rating (p=0.0016).1
It is a skin-health treatment, not an anti-ageing one. If lines and laxity are what you want addressed, this is not the treatment that does it, and the consultation will point you at the ones that do.
How it works
The session runs through set steps: a gentle exfoliating cleanse, a mild acid peel, vortex extraction under suction, then infusion of antioxidant and hyaluronic acid serums. Boosters can be added for pigmentation, congestion or sensitivity. It is often used as monthly maintenance alongside more active treatments.

Who performs this
Every plan starts with a consultation. Which clinician you see depends on availability and on what the assessment finds.
Choose your facial
Three routines on the same platform. Each one builds on the last, so the question is not what each contains but what the next one up adds — select a tier to see every step and what it does.
Everything in Silver, plus manual extraction and LED light therapy. The one to book if congestion and blackheads are the problem.
- 1CleansingA double cleanse to lift makeup, sunscreen, oil and surface dirt so the steps that follow reach the skin rather than what is sitting on it.
- 2MicrodermabrasionMechanical exfoliation that removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells. This is what makes the skin feel smoother immediately afterwards.
- 3Pore vacuumGentle suction that draws debris out of open pores while serum is applied at the same time — cleansing and infusion in one pass.
- 4ExtractionNew at this tierClogged or compacted pores cleared by hand with a comedone extractor. This is the step that deals with blackheads the vacuum cannot lift.
- 5Ultrasonic skin scrubberA flat metal blade vibrating at ultrasonic frequency, used to loosen oil and debris from the pore openings.
- 6Facial maskA mask held against the skin so its active ingredients have contact time, chosen for your skin at the appointment.
- 7LED light therapyNew at this tierDifferent wavelengths of visible light applied to the skin — blue is generally used where acne is the concern, red where the aim is the deeper layer.
- 8Skin coolingA chilled metal head passed over the skin at the end. It calms redness after the active steps and is the reason most people leave without visible flushing.
Every facial starts with a look at your skin. If a step is not right for you on the day — active acne, very sensitive skin, recent sun exposure — it is left out and you are told why, rather than performed because it is on the list.

Expected results
Skin looks brighter, clearer and better hydrated immediately, and typically holds for around a week. Monthly sessions are usual for anyone treating ongoing congestion or dullness, and it pairs well with a proper home routine — which the therapist will talk through honestly.
Who it may suit
Suits most skin types, including sensitive skin, and is a good starting point for anyone new to treatments. Active, inflamed acne or rosacea flares may need a modified protocol or a different treatment altogether.
Side effects & aftercare
Individual responses vary — the team explains everything before treatment and is one message away after it.
- Very little is needed — makeup can go on straight away if you want it.
- Occasional light redness settles within an hour or two.
- Skip retinoids and acids for twenty-four hours, and wear SPF as usual.
- Congested skin sometimes purges briefly in the days after a first session as pores clear.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — that is one of the main reasons people book it. There is no downtime, and skin usually looks its best on the day itself and the day after.
Monthly is typical if you are treating ongoing congestion or dullness. As an occasional pre-event treatment, whenever you need it.
It helps with congestion, blackheads and dullness, and it can be a useful part of a plan. Genuine inflammatory acne is a medical condition and needs medical treatment — a doctor here will say so rather than sell you a course of facials.
