IV INFUSION · DEIRA, DUBAI

Hair Loss Support

A biotin, MSM and zinc preparation on a B-complex base, with two vials of vitamin D3, given after an assessment of why the hair is shedding.

Per session399

About this infusion

The infusion carries 5 mg of biotin, 3,000 mg of MSM and 30 mg of zinc alongside vitamin C and the B vitamins. Two separate 1 ml vials supply 20,000 IU of vitamin D3.

Hair loss has causes, and they are not interchangeable. Iron deficiency, thyroid disease, a recent illness, a new medication and androgenetic pattern loss all present as shedding and none of them responds to the same thing. An infusion is not a diagnosis, which is why the consultation looks for a cause before anything is given.

Your doctor may consider it for

  • Shedding where a nutritional cause has been found on blood tests
  • Support alongside a diagnosed cause being treated in its own right
  • Patients already under review for hair loss who need a deficiency corrected

Not suitable for

  • Anyone who has not had the cause of their hair loss looked into
  • Anyone due a blood test in the next few days — see the biotin warning below
  • Pattern hair loss on its own, which has its own treatments

What the evidence says

Biotin is a cofactor for the carboxylase enzymes the body uses in fatty acid synthesis, and it does help hair where there is a genuine deficiency.1 The evidence for giving it to people who are not deficient is weak, and true deficiency is uncommon on an ordinary diet.2 There is also a practical warning worth taking seriously: high-dose biotin interferes with several laboratory immunoassays, and the FDA has linked falsely low troponin results to it — including one reported death.3 Tell any doctor testing you that you have had biotin.

Questions people ask

That depends entirely on why it is falling out, which is what the consultation establishes. Where the cause is a deficiency this preparation can correct, correcting it is worth doing. Where the cause is thyroid disease, a medication or pattern hair loss, this is not the treatment and your doctor will say so.
