Tooth Jewellery in Dubai

A tooth gem is a small crystal bonded to the surface of a front tooth with the same adhesive used for orthodontic brackets. There is no drilling and no damage to the enamel, and it can be removed cleanly later. At Smart Care Polyclinic in Deira it is AED 59 per gem, fitted by a dentist in a single short visit.

What it is

The tooth is cleaned and dried, the enamel is lightly conditioned, and the gem is bonded with a light-cured dental adhesive — the same process used to fix a brace bracket, and just as reversible. Nothing is drilled and nothing is removed from the tooth. The gem sits slightly proud of the surface and you stop noticing it within a day.

Why a dentist rather than a kiosk. The adhesives sold for home kits are not made for teeth, and a gem placed over plaque or on a tooth with early decay traps bacteria against it. A dentist checks the tooth first, uses a dental adhesive, and can take the gem off later without a mark.

Looking after it

Brush and floss normally, including around the gem; a soft brush is fine. Avoid biting directly on it with very hard food for the first day. A gem that comes off is not harmful — it is simply re-bonded. When you want it removed, the dentist lifts it off and polishes away the adhesive, leaving the enamel as it was.

Questions patients ask

No, when it is placed by a dentist on a clean, healthy tooth with dental adhesive. Removal polishes off the adhesive without harming the enamel. Home kits using superglue or non-dental adhesives are a different matter and are not recommended.

This guide is general information about a treatment, not advice about your teeth. Which option suits you depends on the tooth, your bite, your gums and what you want long term — all of which the dentist assesses at your free consultation before anything is agreed.
